Jason J Ferguson is a multi-media artist exploring the poetics and beauty of absurdity. He uses humor and an absurdist voice to survey challenging topics including existential being, mortality, and religion. His practice is playful and employs the collaborative misuse of scientific protocol as a tool for interrogation. For example, he has applied medical procedures to domestic objects; used geological core sampling to study the accumulation of objects in a historical building; and he has combined the quiet intimacy of home with public spectacle. Ferguson's current work raises questions of context, value, and loss.
