An active painter and sculptor since the early eighties, Scott Mossman's work has always involved the relationships inherent in elements/objects within a given space. In his sculptures, his geometric forms interact with the architectural elements within a space and comment on the viewers' relationship with the work presented and the pre-existing elements soffits, baseboards, the height of the ceiling, and windows, and doors among other features within a space. In his paintings, this challenge also exists as the elements within the work, such as color, perspective, and composition, work together to push the limits of a flat canvas.
