My art is profoundly influenced by my participation on scientific expeditions to remote and wild biomesin the Amazon as well as explorations of local ecosystems. My artistic practice often reveals little known,under appreciated aspects of nature such as the diversity of soil microorganisms, insects, lichen, seeds, fungi, and plants. I use my art as a conduit to engage and educate the public about important issues regarding nature, science, conservation, and biodiversity. I intend to visually enthrall the viewer and communicate the significance of human relationships and interactions with the biological wealth that delights, surrounds and sustains us.
