"Born in Scotland, I moved to the US over 20 years ago, settling here in Evanston with my then-young family. Questioning, observing, and preparing for the unexpected are integral to my experience in product research and design. Over time, I learned to use these same practices to communicate my observations and frame my experience through my photography. What started as a way to share experiences, has evolved into a mindful practice, an immersion in my surroundings and a way to engage with our shared spaces.
I make images of everyday scenes, and find there unanticipated perspectives; I enjoy presenting familiar landscapes with a slightly different interpretation, and like to do the same in my portraits of people, capturing their attitudes and expressions as they experience their environment."

Questioning, observing, and preparing for the unexpected are integral to my experience in product design. What started, many years ago, as a way to tell stories, has evolved into a mindful practice, an immersion in my surroundings and a way to engage with our shared spaces.
