"Born in Scotland, I moved to the US over 20 years ago, settling here in Evanston with my then-young family. Questioning, observing, and preparing for the unexpected are integral to my experience in product research and design. Over time, I learned to use these same practices to communicate my observations and frame my experience through my photography. What started as a way to share experiences, has evolved into a mindful practice, an immersion in my surroundings and a way to engage with our shared spaces.

I make images of everyday scenes, and find there unanticipated perspectives; I enjoy presenting familiar landscapes with a slightly different interpretation, and like to do the same in my portraits of people, capturing their attitudes and expressions as they experience their environment."
