Connor Young started his collection KILLER QUEEN last year following Texas's ban on drag queen performances in front of children and Kim Davis's attempt to once again overturn Obergefell vs Hodges. His explosive portraiture centers on cross-dressing creatures with AK-47 high heels and bloodthirsty fangs. Young embraces the anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation by leaning into his love for the horror film genre and colorfully kitsch textures. He uses this exaggeration of drag art as a vehicle to caricaturize radical right views and provide a deliciously horrific world of divas for everyone to enjoy.
