My work has evolved throughout the years to become what it is today. Starting out as a wood carver and moving into metal sculpture, my work has gone from traditional bird decoy representations to the whimsical bird sculptures that I create today. I call them "Tank Birds". These are definitely "not normal" bird sculptures. While making my more traditional bird sculptures, I happened to notice the similarity of a birds body to the shape of a motorcycle tank. After I made the first one, and got feedback from family and friends, I now devote all of my artistic efforts to creating more of these whacky birds sculptures. I get great pleasure from hearing people's comments and seeing a smile on their faces.
