Michelle Kaffko
 
A photographer for over 20 years, Michelle has been exploring grief and family dynamics through photography and mixed media. She lives in Chicago with her four year old son and owns and operates a commercial photo studio in the West Loop.
 
 
When my son was two years old I revisited the themes of the 2022 piece and wanted to show how the fatigue of motherhood can feel compounded by the IVF process to get there. I recreated the scene of the room in its present state with it's many changes, though my exhausted and melted posture remained the same.
